An interesting thread on Hacker News appeared the other day. This was in response to an article published on Bloomberg stating the best way to end Google’s monopoly is to make their index publicly available via an API (Meaning, any programmer could get that data). The ex-Google engineer said making the index public is not a competitive edge.
